Before I started writing seriously, I was a marital and psychosexual therapist and began my writing career by being commissioned by Sheldon (SPCK) to write two self-help books on relationships: Overcoming Impotence and Make-Up or Break Up? Both are published in the UK by Sheldon and are available through Amazon and from bookstores everywhere.  I have always written poetry and though not a prolific writer, I have been published in twenty-three collections of poetry, including Liver Bards, Incite, Lexicon, The People's Poet, Poetry Monthly, Masque, Envoi, Keele University anthology etc.  Contact me for details/samples/or just to comment.

Here's the starting paragraph of my latest book, a fictionalised memoir.

THE ENGINEER'S DAUGHTER   ISBN number 14137 4962 3
"I left home for the second time at the age of forty-seven.  It was five o'clock on a freezing Sunday morning in January and nobody was about.  My mother, who always rose early, was dead. The funeral had been in October; now it was New Year and a terrible madness had settled upon the family. My brother was, I imagined, locked in his bedroom as he always was, vigilant; still waiting for my mother's call. I warmed my hands on the Aga and rooted around for a biro in the kitchen drawer.  I left a note for my brother telling him that I wasn't staying where I wasn't welcome and to please give back the things my mother had left me in her will.  Then I stepped out into the icy darkness... "

OTHER BOOKS:    A PINT IN THE WEIRD SHIT PUB (under Val Robson) published by Pegasus 2000, plus an erotic novella for BLACK LACE in 2003. I'm a bit shy about that one!

Unconfirmed Reports From Out There is a collection of stories about myths, monsters, and the supernatural. A number of these, Eating Matilda, Pet, Prize Pelt and Invisible Dust have been published in collections, such as the one above, while Down By The River and The Metopian Sutures have been published on the internet.  I am still adding to the collection.
